Saturday game review by evil kilt

10/05/2013 18:57

So it begins the great legion get together ,As Ive never been to a legion game i was not sure what to expect it could be anything my battle buddy (Ross Kemp) and
i drove down it took us roughly two and a half hours as we turned the corner we seen something rather strange a factory building with big letters across the windows in paint
CQB SWINDON finding our parking spot (dodging a few hidden land mines)
Unloading our gear we were met by the staff who was taking the money and giving a few safety pointers that have to be said in person to every individual who walks
through the gates at first i thought it was a little over board for a normal site game after the fees and paper work was dealt out we were taken to the safe zone to
fall in with the rest of the crew and to start meeting folk who I've only chatted to on line sorting our gear out and climbing into my armour .we were given a very
warm welcome by Sharkbite and Rambo
so suited and booted we were ready for war bring what it may NO QUARTER WILL BE GIVEN or in other words game brief and safety brief and off we went to our
first game to describe the site ..........just think of a war torn city block after an air strike and mix in a zombie collapse but without the bodies littering
all over the place

We had a nice warm up game of virus and this sucker got hit first off that would make me patent zero the wee lad who got me came out of no where something I was
to learn in a hurry this place had more entrances and exits and some really sneaky spots that I won't give away. My battle buddy seen that I was hit managed to
break contact and get the hell out of dodge ,myself I was off to the spawn point to get taped up for the enemy side just as I got back into the game I got hit again
by a sneaky shot from an upstairs landing damn it was a good one and again back to the respawn. This time I tread lightly back to the stair well and with.
Genital strides an the timing of a ninja I got the toe rag ! Right on the arm HA ! Off he trotted to be taped up I carefully crept up the stairs to clear them
and to get to the next target
We played this game for about an hour or so shooting and clearing out areas and having to double check all areas for smart folk who hide it was of to do some
more of these types of games the idea as your running around is to get use to the site area a great tactic used by the staff to show the grounds of the area off .
In the middle arena they played a great game where i got to flex my shooting skill ,it was a simple defend attack game but i got stuck right in as out team took up
a base line cutting the area in half every man had they're own line to hold as the enemy advanced towards us we started to lay down fire .The enemy tried to use
a blitz tactic by pushing fast and hard just like general Patton would of done after 20 min of this we were down to the last three Myself Ross Kemp and Rambo in a
rough triangle we add a sort of defensive triangle one enemy trooper came around the corner at speed an didn't see where i was placed yep he got it his own fault
for not clearing the corners as he came round .but to my arch of fire i seen one lad manage to get past my man on the right but he had to stretch to get it but was
picked off by number three who had our back manages to get the ones that had slipped pass after 10 min we were all in the respawn area and had put up a hell of a
fight to the enemy I was happy with the results of the match we all fought our hearts out for it
The staff made you aware of the space to be used around you and the games proved that beyond a shadow of a doubt
The lunch that was put on for the legion crew was mighty to say the least Ribs the size of your rib cage and mountain of burgers to get through I did sort of
feel sorry for the vegetarian that was with us but in them happy word "my food craps on your food !"(I joke leaf eaters ) Although the staff did get some veg for the poor soul.

) after lunch I put on my legion press card and got the camera going the first game after lunch was a a pistol/semi auto comp as a few players didn't have pistols
and the staff far play to them took us all down to a course they had set up ready for us to tee off on the one point the evil sods didn't tell us was it was in the
basement and near pitch black for all that and the fact they kept us waiting in a bright area to really make it harder for us

as everyone lined up for the chance to see who is the best shot everyone waited in that true airsoft style that we all know ............and the were off. One by one
sweeping each area for the the bullseye and to be fair the long distance shot was a bit of a challenge with only two persons being able to hit the target at roughly
10 meters As the comp closed we were ready for the next mad game of survival or more to the point

survive the death machine ,using Mr 60 the idea was to engage the enemy as the death machine shot everything in its way regardless who was there or what team they
were on as the fire fire was going on if you could get close enough to the sod and tap him he would fight for your side till he was tagged again with fast
action on both sides i was sightly jealous i couldn't get stuck into the ensuing battle royal that was happening around the area but the needs must of the
legion blog team .with the games done and dusted we went back to the safe zone for thanks to all involved and to pack up our gear for the long road home a few there
had came a great many miles to play not just at the site but to meet other members of the legion myself included in this .

All in all it was a great day and well thought out with some wonderful food to be had the site does have a shop with the usual things in it like ammo snacks pyro and
a few airsoft guns form quality manufactures if any of you go the best bit of extra kit to bring would be a damn good torch you'll need it

CQB tactical friday night review by jack

08/05/2013 11:49

Ok so my co-blogger evil kilt is going to review the saturday and im going to review the friday evening.
After leaving the M4 and navigating the streets as a small convoy we spotted a building that was definately described as 'becoming derelict', we knew we had found it though due to the big lettering on the front which said CQB TACTICAL........great start.

Taffs decision to play a legion version of angry birds outside was interesting and the first guy we met introduced himself as the guy who takes out the trash, turns out he was in fact the owner.

We were escorted upstairs to the safe zone, me first of course, where i spotted a leather sofa with both ends reclining (thanks to Chris Lear), it was taxed and was mine. A quick setup of the firearms then a brief tour of the premises starting with the basement. You could tell during the walkthrough that people were looking to see if there was places to hide, best to shoot from, shoot into ETC.

Walkthrough done and it was onto grabbing stuff then the briefing, il be honest il skip the briefings in this piece because its normally the same on most sites.

First game, virus, i enjoyed that the thought of having an infected player which you need to stay away from was a great idea to which our small team (TEAM S.A.R.S) stayed together on the upper floor watching the sniper hole, staircase and hallways. As a team we enjoyed a good laugh when we found out we covered one option and the other was covered by 3 kids as it was put.

The evening proceeded to a little attack and defend which S.A.R.S rocked again, great teamwork from myself and Jester (Sophie Phillips) as we take down Pixie (Christina cook) with a flashbang and shot to the leg then in reverse we got epicly mowed down but its all fun.
Back at the safe zone it was pizza time (which we had ordered earlier and a deffo for next time avoid the garlic butter) and thats when the laughs really began for it was just an all night chuckle. So here we go for my personal review. (all rated out of 10)

EVIL KILT on legion

01/05/2013 22:31

so .........I am in a few groups on FB and got chattin to RAY, yep! its his damn fault again!
I went to bed as normal at a usual time and woke up to find i was added so something called LEGION ???,I had no idea what I had been added to or anything about it
so I had a wee look on the pages and was perplexed to what i had seen on the face it looked to be just a normal run of the mill airsoft face book page but that was
just the face and as this man knows the face of something is just the start of anything . Don't believe me go poke an iceberg
putting on my my detective hat i went snooping to find out a bit more about legion airsoft ,at first it looked to be an airsoft site page but when you
click on the members who were posting they were all over the country and some a little farther than that

asking around a few folk i soon found out that the legion crew was the brain child of simon the old man of airsoft (I'm mates with the demi god of airsoft
already he would be a full god but he's an atheist ) set up to gather the scrotes, maggots ,eejeits of the airsoft world and unite them under one banner
this did appeal to myself as I've been through the team aspect and all the damn problems that go with it ,I've done the whole tactical load out thing to death
and got board with that as well but love the airsoft game running around with a gun and shooting some wee spud who wondered into my field of fire .The simple pleasures
of life were men are men (or women) and we all like to run around the woods thinking we are still 10 year old still

I've been in legion now a few months and really like what I'm seeing they have their own patches and a comic in the mix good banter on the pages a radio station that
pops out shows every week more or less with some craicing tunes and select game days at sites around the country ,what's not to love i have my first big legion game
coming up on star wars day or to the weak amongst you May the 4th .the legion get together down in Swindon with 24 hours of hot steamy action in a nice CQB setting .I'm looking forward to this as i get to see who I've been abusing on the pages and say hello in person
My load out at the moment is a Kilt and heavy body armour if you see me about give me a shout

Jacks first view of Airsoft

01/05/2013 15:19

ok so this is a little about Airsoft, me and how i got into it. After a chance conversation with Chris 'Taff' Norman,

he told me to try my hand at Airsoft. I got into a following conversation with

the legion owners and got assigned the number 42, aptly chosen considering my call sign of Obi-Wan.

The first game was the Christmas special where i got shot from every direction although i got to meet some

great people and enjoy my first skirmish. The second event i attended was a special at the courthouse in

Bristol where allot of the Dragon valley 'big guns' where there. I have attended several other games since then,

obtained a license and now own my own RIF's which will come into it a little later.

Airsoft has shown me that it isn’t about what your shooting or how big it is, its all about teamwork, having a

great time, meeting new people and enjoying a laugh with people who are to have your back for the day.

Now in the Airsoft world i am one of the front men on a team called S.A.R.S, a SWAT like team that will be

heading to a few of the biggest games in Airsoft this year.

My current arsenal consists of a G36 assault rifle, stubby shotgun and a Desert Eagle side arm and you will

see me on site normally wearing my woodland DPM plate carrier with my knife wedged down the front then

when I'm on site I'm normally the one with a pocket full of grenades and smokes.

So you know a little about me and how I got into Airsoft as well as my military wardrobe so join us here on the

blog leave a comment or 2, take time to look around and hopefully ill see you on site.
